The Hilton Manchester Airport has been the first choice hotel when flying morning flights from Manchester Airport since I became a Hilton Honours Member.
Located a short distance from Terminal 1 with a minibus service providing transport to all three Manchester Airport terminals every fifteen minutes.
There is a park and fly option available. However, I haven’t used it for several years.
I’m staying at the hotel as I have a flight to Bali via Singapore, with Singapore Airlines with my wife and youngest daughter on 9th August 2017 at 11.40am.

Check-in
Unfortunately when I arrived and attempted to check-in at the Hilton Honours area the member of reception staff seemed to be a bit flustered.
As a Hilton Honours member, I had already checked in online, and it should have been a simple process, but it wasn’t.
By the time the check-in process was complete the member of staff could tell I wasn’t particularly happy about the delay and offer me some free vouchers for the bar.
I had opted as a Hilton Honours Gold Member for free complimentary breakfast for myself and my wife and was willing to pay for breakfast for my daughter. However, the member of staff offered the additional meal for free.
Therefore, although the check-in process wasn’t up to what you would expect, the hotel staff acknowledged this and offered a solution that I was more than happy to accept. Great Service.
The Room
I booked a Family Room with two queen beds as only one daughter was travelling with my wife and me on this occasion.
Room 328 was clean and tidy with a work desk, two Hilton Serenity Beds, a single sofa bed, LCD TV with limited channel options and soundproof windows, with blackout curtains.
The room is pretty basic but functional with tea and coffee facilities and ample wardrobe space for a one night stay.
Wifi is available in your room as long as you book directly through the Hilton Website. Otherwise, it is chargeable, but you can get free wifi in reception and bar areas.
Bathroom
PeterThomasRoth shampoo, conditioner and body cleanser are made available, so there is no need to open your suitcase to have a shower or a bath.
The bathroom was looking a bit tired and could do with a refit, but just like the room, it was functional.
Bar & Restaurant
Unfortunately, a decision was made to eat and shop at the Trafford Centre, which ended up with me spending money on my daughter and being more out of pocket.
However, on return from our shopping trip, we had a couple of drinks at Mason’s Bar.
A pint of either Becks or Stella was under £5.00 and a bottle of wine cost between £25.00 to £35.00.
If you go to the Hilton Website, there are three menu offerings online.
Breakfast
Breakfast service was at Mason’s Restaurant from 4.00am, and my flight to Singapore wasn’t until 11.40am, so there was plenty of time to have something to eat.
Breakfast was self-service, but the staff came round and offered tea and coffee.
There was a good selection of hot and cold options, and I opted for the full English as my next meal would be on the plane flying to Singapore.
Check-out and Airport Transfer
There was no need to physically check-out as I had pre-paid for the room and the Hotel would just email me the final bill.
You can catch the airport transport by the main entrance of the hotel, and it is available every fifteen minutes. We had to wait a little longer than usual due to the number of other guests leaving the hotel at the same time, but there was no rush.
