Review Hilton Helsinki Strand
During our brief visit to Helsinki, we had just enough time to review the Hilton Helsinki Strand Hotel before embarking on a ferry journey to Tallinn the next day. We had high hopes for a memorable experience.
We opted for a room that included Executive Lounge access, anticipating an enhanced level of service and amenities. While the hotel staff certainly impressed us, we were ultimately disappointed by the lounge experience itself, which fell short of our expectations and lacked both atmosphere and offerings.

Check In
We arrived at the hotel in an Uber from Helsinki Airport (HEL) after a pleasant Finnair Business Class flight from Manchester (MAN). The ride from the airport took less than thirty minutes, and upon our arrival shortly after 3:00 pm, we were pleased to find that our room was ready for us.
Although we did not receive an upgrade despite being Gold Status Hilton Honors Members, this is not unusual with Hilton Hotels, as upgrades can often be limited.
We had checked in online before our arrival, which made the entire process quick and efficient, allowing us to settle in and start enjoying our stay without any delays.
Room
Nevertheless, the room itself was well-sized at 30 square meters and featured the standard comfortable Serenity bed provided by Hilton. A desk and dedicated workspace were situated behind the bed, along with a chaise lounge positioned by the window for relaxation.
Tea and coffee-making facilities were provided by the hotel, complete with a kettle, as well as a minibar with chargeable items. Additionally, an iron and an ironing board were available, along with a hair dryer and a TV. The wardrobe space was adequate for short-term stays, ensuring convenience and comfort during the visit.

Bathrobes and slippers were provided as a lovely added touch. The bathroom didn’t have an individual shower, but rather a handheld shower over the bath.

Restaurants & Bars
Instead, our booking included a bed and breakfast rate that offered a range of morning options. While the buffet selection featured both hot and cold dishes, it was nothing particularly remarkable; however, it was sufficient to fuel our day.

Executive Lounge
Hilton Hotel Executive Lounge can vary significantly from one location to another, and unfortunately, this particular venue fell short of our expectations. The lounge is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, with the evening canapés and drinks service between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.
During the day, light snacks are available, along with soft drinks, tea, and coffee-making facilities. There is a balcony in the lounge, which is great to sit outside when the sun is shining.

However, on a positive note, the evening cocktail service provided a delightful exception. The staff truly excelled, offering attentive care and personalised service that enhanced our visit and made the experience deserving of a tip.
Indoor Pool & Gym
There is also a fitness centre which unlike the pool is open 24 hours a day.
Staff & Service
The service delivered by the staff in the lobby bar and during morning breakfast, as well as those attending to the executive lounge in the evening, was consistently exceptional throughout our stay.
