The Aspire Lounge at Liverpool John Lennon Airport is the only Airport Lounge at the terminal.

I have had good and bad experiences in the past. However, I wasn’t expecting the lounge to be open, which was a pleasant surprise before my flight to Malta with Easyjet.

Location

After going through security, the lounge is Airside after Duty-Free and taking the escalator down to the Lower Level.

Opening Hours

 05:00 – 13:00 Monday.

05:00 – 12:00 Tuesday & Thursday.

05:00 – 11:00 Wednesday.

05:00 – 17:00 Friday – Sunday.

Closed: Dec 25.

The above hours are subject to change and are correct at the time of the review.

Access to Lounge

The average cost per person is usually £30.99 for a maximum of three hours if pre-booked.

However, I’m a Priority Pass Member via my American Express Platinum Card and, therefore, wasn’t charged.

Layout

The lounge is on one level with a layout of tables and chairs, some sofas and a raised seating area with stools.

It was quiet on my visit, so it felt spacious, and I have never found it full on my previous visits.

Facilities

There is disabled access although there are no toilets in the lounge you have to leave and use the airport facilities.

Free Wi-Fi is available, and the code is available at reception.

The lounge is air-conditioned with flight information available on several screens.

Food and Drink

I was visiting in the morning, so the food options included hot and cold breakfast options.

Hot Food Options – Sausage barm, veggie sausage barm, bacon roll, scrambled eggs and porridge.

Cold Dishes – Greek yoghurt & granola, cereals, croissant, fresh fruit selection, yoghurts, ham and cheese.

Because I thought the lounge was still closed due to Covid-19 restrictions, I had already eaten.

Also, unusually for me, I didn’t fancy an alcoholic drink, so I only had a cappuccino coffee from the self-service machine.

A limited choice of complimentary wines and beers from the bar are available, as well as premium purchases.

Lounge Overview

My underlying view hasn’t changed, and in fairness, it meets my expectations when visiting as a Priority Pass Member.

However, would I pay over £30.00 per person for the experience? Probably not!

The staff working on the day were pleasant, and the lounge was kept clean and if you intend to eat and drink for three hours, then go for it.
